1. Repeatedly remind yourself that everyone else in the room knows how to come over well – you're the only one who doesn't.
2. Lurk by the door, or hug a wall.
3. Collapse your chest inwards.
4. Carry your shoulders as near to your ears as possible.
5. Keep your arms folded or clasped across the front of your body.
6. Stand on one leg a lot.
7. Talk as quietly as possible without moving your mouth any more than absolutely necessary.
8. Don't engage eye contact.
9. Never smile.
10. Remember at all times that no-one wants to know you and you're not very interesting anyway.
---------------------------------------------------------------- On the other hand…
if you are truly not guilty of any of the above, the chances are you have more powerful presence than you think.
But then again, if you could do with
a few more positive tips and techniques than these,
why not seek help
from a professional Personal Impact coach?
Engaging an individual, a small group, or a large audience begins with BEING, not SAYING.
And if it's written all over you that you feel you're about to be thrown to the lions… then that's the message everyone's getting from you, loud and clear.
But it's not as hard as you may think to turn those audiences (large or small) into pussy cats.
Being present is the first – and most important – part of getting them to lap it up.
If you're not sure how that might apply to you, read on… and see if there's anything you recognise from our invaluable tips on how NOT to present yourself to others.
Then, if you'd like a little more personal help in taming the scariest of audiences, get in touch.
We'll be happy to help you turn your very presence into a roaring success.
You're receiving these tips either because we've met and chatted at a networking event, or at some other time you've expressed an interest in the many ways Play4Real helps people in business to rehearse... in order to give a better performance.
If you'd rather not receive any more of these, you'll find an 'unsubscribe' option below.
