If you’d like to see an example of our Forum Theatre work, below you can download some extracts from
The House that Danny Built, a custom-written play commissioned by Arts & Business in association with St Andrews Knowledge Consortium.
Using the metaphor of a couple going through some difficulties in their marriage, the play explores the relationship between two companies working in partnership on a joint project. You’ll see it being performed in situ by professional actors, who then interact with the audience to draw out new insights about the characters’ behaviours and relationships.
Part 1: The Play (running time 5½ mins.): extracts from the play, professionally performed before an audience from both companies.
Part 2: Audience Interaction (running time 7 mins.): examples of audience comment and interaction with the actors in character. The actors then replay scenes, improvising around suggestions on ways of behaving differently.
Part 3: Key Learning (running time 1 min.): finally, the audience discuss what they've learned from the play.
